It’s considered a high point for the series, essentially rebooting a campy Grand Theft Auto alternative into a franchise that could legitimately compete with Rockstar’s iconic series of open-world crime games. The original Saints Row: The Third was initially released in 2011 as a bright spot in THQ’s lineup. 2 is a far better game overall, but 1 let you knock trains off of their tracks with a rocket launcher for a massive pile-up. I would recommend playing both of them and I think that they equally as good. Anyhow, they are both brilliantly fun games.
You could get a pimp-cane-shotgun in the original Saints Row too…. Saints Row 3 is still a great game but I feel it’s knocked down a few pegs due to some questionable design choices and the less interesting side missions.
